10 STEPS TO CAMPAIGN SUCCESS

 

1.       Reinforce Chief Executive's commitment to…..

a.       Send an endorsement letter to all employees and make personal appearances at all campaign events.

b.      Provide company time for employee meetings, campaigner training, agency tours or presentations.

c.       Arrange for payroll deductions.

d.      Review past campaign performance.

2.       Set employee goal by totaling employee potential for giving…..

a.       United Way asks employees to give one hour's pay per month through payroll deduction. If 80% of the employees in a company give one hour's pay per month, they will raise 100 percent of their "potential."

3.       Develop campaign plan by…..

a.       Attending a campaign coordinator orientation.

b.      Preparing a timetable.

c.       Ordering materials.

d.      Planning a kick-off.

e.       Providing incentives.

f.       Selecting additional campaign elements.

g.      Gaining CEO plan approval.

4.       Initiate leadership giving program by…..

a.       Reinforcing CEO's commitment to select top level managers Leadership Giving Program.

b.      Conducting a separate United Way presentation (guest speakers available) for executives to contribute their Leadership Gift prior to the company campaign kick-off.

c.       Publicize results of your Leadership Giving Program to set the pace for employee giving.

b.      Providing campaigner training to ensure committee members understand United Way and motivate them to participate enthusiastically.

a.       Notifying United Way of the company's progress
