YOUTH DEVELOPMENT included services for children with special needs, day care, scouting, addressing early anti-social behavior and an abstinence program for teens.
FAMILY/COMMUNITY WELLNESS centers on personal growth for individuals, teen pregnancy, hospice and services for abused/neglected children.
SELF SUFFICIENCY helps mentally challenged individuals, seniors, retirees and helps provide public transportation.
CRISIS & EMERGENCY focuses on fire and disaster assistance, food and rent supplements, health services and "shelters" for individuals such as victims of domestic violence.
To make this possible, United Way, an autonomous local organization, conducts and annual fundraising campaign with the help of area businesses and community volunteers.
All funding policies and decisions are made here by a volunteer board of directors, all of whom live and/or work in Noble County. A citizen review process involving 48 community volunteers meeting with the 24 partner agencies' volunteers to review and discuss programs which are funded through United Way. This review process assures contributors their dollars are being used to deliver programs to people in need.
The organization receives serviced form United Way of America, a trade organization that assists local United Ways with market research information, licenses use of the United Way logo, and helps cultivate relationships with major national employers as well as the national Football League (NFL).
